1 While you were away. A woman returned to her home in the 1300 block of South Paris Street and noticed that someone broke into her house May 30. Her cell phone and laptop were missing, and the screen was broken off her kitchen window.

2 Beauty run. Loss prevention at the King Soopers at 1155 S. Havana St. called police because a man stole a armful of hair care products and then bolted from the store. Police located a man matching the suspect’s description at a nearby bus stop May 30. Police found the stolen items on the man and arrested him.

3 Window retribution. Police were called to the 16000 block of East Colfax Avenue about a broken window on a couple’s home May 28. The female resident said she suspects that her mother, who lives in a neighboring unit, broke the window in response to a disagreement from earlier.

4 Distraction and trickery. A store manager at the Cici’s Pizza at 14000 E. Mississippi Ave. called police because an employee accidentally gave two men $500 May 28. The employee said the two suspects kept asking for change for large bills and confusing him with other requests until he forgot how much money he already handed over.

5 Hit and bolt. A woman called police because someone ran his car into her closed garage door twice and sped away May 27. The woman didn’t know who may have hit her garage in the 2100 block of Joplin Way.

6 Church vandals. Police responded to a security alarm that went off at the Martin Episcopal Church at 4740 S. Buckley Road after someone threw a cement chunk through the basement window May 26.
