
1 Pot fumes concern neighbor. A Golden resident in the 500 block of Blue Jay Drive called Golden police May 27 with concerns about the strong odor of marijuana coming from her neighbor’s home. She said she knows growing marijuana is now legal but suspects her neighbors grow more plants than are legal. Officers investigated but found no probable cause to ask for consent to search the house based on an odor that, they said, “we know should be there.”
2 Quick case closed. On May 23, Golden police were advised by dispatch that a contractor who had been at his residence in the 1200 block of B Street, Golden, stole some car keys. By the time an officer responded by phone, the contractor had returned the keys. No charges were filed.
3 Man reports suspicious call. A man living in the 5900 block of South Xenophon Court in the Littleton area called Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies on May 29 after he received a suspicious phone call. The caller said the man owed money to the IRS. The man said he argued with the caller, and gave a deputy the caller’s number. The deputy traced the number and found similar complaints associated with it.
4 Couple fights at storage unit. On May 28, a deputy responded to a dispute between a man and woman at Public Storage, 10270 W. Hampden Ave., unincorporated Jeffco. The woman said the man threatened to break her things. She blamed him for breaking a picture frame earlier. The man said he had been giving the woman money and wanted it back. The deputy said that was a civil matter.
