1 Careless driver. On June 7, an Edgewater police officer on routine patrol pulled over the driver of a vehicle in the 2200 block of Sheridan Boulevard. A 26-year-old Lakewood man was arrested for careless driving, not having proof of vehicle insurance, operating a motor vehicle while his driver’s license was revoked and DUI.

2 Man arrested on multiple charges. On June 4, officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Marshall Street, Edgewater, regarding a disturbance. The officers arrested a 51-year-old Edgewater man on suspicion of third-degree assault, false imprisonment and domestic violence. In addition, the man had an outstanding $1,500 arrest warrant for destruction of private property.

3 They came in through the bedroom window. On May 29, a Lakewood police officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Ames Street regarding a report of domestic violence. The resident said a woman he had met yesterday was refusing to leave and was breaking things inside his apartment. She had barricaded the front door with a table, but officers were able to enter through the bedroom window. Officers found her hiding in a bathtub full of water, with a curtain pulled over her. She was jailed.

4 False alarm. On May 29, a woman was arrested for false reporting in the 1100 block of Jay Street, Lakewood. She called police on her 16-year-old brother, telling the officer he was smoking marijuana and crack, and had just taken a needle out of his arm. The man was sober; the woman said she wanted to get her brother in trouble.
