Some buyers moving to Southshore are commuting downtown or to DTC, others need to be close to Denver International Airport; but ALL of them want to live near water – something not easy to find on the high prairie. “People arrive and say, ‘Wow! I had no idea this was here!'” says Andrea Geary with Village Homes, who’ll show you two luxurious, newly opened models that are walking distance from vast Aurora Reservoir – closer still to water-oriented amenities including a private kayaking lake, saltwater pool, and a waterside clubhouse. “It all adds up to resort living in a highly regarded community,” she adds.

For Village, the arrival of these new Signature Collection models is icing-on-the-cake to nationally acclaimed, master-planned Southshore, where you can now tour ten new model homes, starting from the low $300,000s. However, Geary says that buyers are telling her the new luxury collection may be the sweet spot for Village at Southshore. “People love this area, and this is the size home that they’re looking for,” she adds.

Village’s Lancaster (a main-floor master) and ‘Stonington’ models are 3,723 and 4,095 square feet, not counting full basements with 9-foot ceilings, and 3-car garages, one bay with a carriage entrance. The family-sized Stonington, five bedrooms from $574,500, shows off a double staircase, one to the master and loft, one direct to the kids’ rooms; leaving a guest suite on the main. Like all homes in the series it comes with an alluring family area with gas fireplace, kitchen with large prep-island, granite tops, and gourmet appliances.

As with other Village collections at South Shore, a ranch plan is included – and you can find one ready for early move-in, just short of 3,000 square feet finished, with three bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths, a gorgeous master with coffered beam ceiling, Santa Barbara mocha-maple 5-inch plank flooring, Timberlake cabinetry, gold granite kitchen counters, and a covered patio. It’s priced at $638,372.

Aside from the comprehensive amenities — loads of activities for kids who parade to Southshore’s Lakehouse community center for swim lessons, sports, ‘kids’ night out’ and other happenings — you’ll see what Geary calls the Denver area’s very best reservoir for recreation – wrapped in eight miles of surrounding trail, with a scenic estuary reaching into Southshore and its open space. “It’s the only place they can find anything like this, and it’s very clean,” she adds.

Nearby you can tour Village’s ‘Generations’ and ‘Harmony’ models and very affordable yet highly amenitized ‘Hometown’ models. Families get Cherry Creek Schools’ popular Fox Ridge Middle/Cherokee Trail High campus a mile west; and can see where two more schools are planned closer still. From E470, head east on Smoky Hill Road past Southlands, two miles to Arapahoe Road, and turn left. Continue by the schools to S. Powhaton, take a left to Southshore Parkway, and turn right, just past the Lakehouse to Shady Grove, then right to the first right on Robertsdale.
