1 Trip to the store. A patrolling officer ran the license plates of a suspicious car driving near East Colfax Avenue and Alton Street June 30. The car was stolen, so the officer pulled over the driver. The suspect said he took the car from a parking lot because he didn’t want to walk to the store.

2 Not talking. Police were called to the 17200 block of East Ford Drive because a man was lying in his front yard with a broken leg. Witnesses told police the man and his neighbor fought June 28. The suspects refused to talk to police.

3 Phone swipe. A clerk at La Guatemalteca at 10329 E. Colfax Ave. called police because a customer stole her cell phone June 28. Security footage showed a man walking up to the cash register and pocketing the phone.

4 Discarded drugs. A pharmacist at Grace Health Pharmacy at 3191 S. Vaughn Way called police because a man reached over the counter and stole prescription drugs June 27. The suspect had thrown two bottles of pills in the parking lot. Police went to his home and arrested him.

5 Fish casualties. Police arrived in the 900 block of South Carson Street because a mother and son were fighting. Inside the residence, police noticed several bowls and cups full of water with goldfish in them. The woman said her son smashed her aquarium when she asked him to pay rent.

6 Carted away. A man was arrested for stealing candy, diapers and clothes from the Family Dollar at 620 Peoria St. The suspect had put all the items in a cart and went down the street to wait for the bus. Police found him and arrested him June 25.
