
1 Domestic violence. On July 13, Edgewater police officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Eaton Street regarding a domestic violence incident. A 29-year-old Edgewater woman was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence. The male victim sustained minor facial injuries.
2 Sexual assault. On July 12, an Edgewater police officer responded to a local hospital on a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a residence in the 2800 block of Ingalls Street. The victim is a 19-year-old female. The case is currently under investigation, but the suspect is known to the victim.
3 TV broken in fight. Lakewood police responded to the 1300 block of Yukon Street on July 7 in reference to a possible overdose. There was no evidence of drug activity; however, police determined an argument had taken place between a man and woman, which resulted in a broken TV and a scratch on the man’s neck. The woman said her boyfriend broke the TV, and she pushed him away in self defense. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence.
4 Shoplifting. On July 4, Lakewood police officers responded to Walmart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave., regarding shoplifters in custody. A 23-year-old woman was arrested for stealing a pair of sunglasses. She had placed the glasses on her head, purchased other items with her friend and left the store. She also initially gave officers a false name because, she said, “I don’t like cops.”
