1 Family fist fight. Lakewood police officers responded July 12 to the 1000 block of South Harlan Way regarding a fight involving a father and his two adult children. The fight started while the intoxicated family was being driven home from a party by a friend. The daughter called him a “bad father” and a “worthless dad.” The brother and sister began hitting their father, so he jumped into the back seat with them. The physical fight continued after the driver pulled over to let them out. All three were issued summonses.

2 Assault under investigation. On July 21, Edgewater police officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Newland Street regarding an assault. A 27-year-old woman sustained serious injury to her jaw when she was punched in the face by a suspect who has yet to be positively identified, but may be known by the victim. The incident is under investigation.

3 Junk. On July 13, a Lakewood police officer responded to a house in the 1500 block of South Cape Street regarding a junk complaint. There was miscellaneous junk that included waste building materials and furnishings on the side yard, driveway of the house and on a utility trailer parked on the driveway. The owner was issued a notice.

4 Juvenile delinquency. On July 20, an officer on bike patrol encountered a suspicious juvenile at 20th and Depew streets in Edgewater. A 13-year-old boy was subsequently arrested and issued a summons to Edgewater Municipal Court for disorderly conduct, trespassing, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
