Re: “Judges overturning the will of Colorado voters on gay marriage,” July 26 letter to the editor.

Letter-writer Beth Ratcliffe states that appointed judges are making decisions that overturn Colorado’s gay-marriage ban even though it was the result of a vote by the people. She then asks whatap wrong with this picture. I say nothing. We are a federal republic and a constitutional representative democracy, not a majority-rule democracy. The Constitution protects the minority from being ridden over roughshod by an unconstitutional vote by the majority. Thatap whatap right with this picture.
