1 Assault on Colfax. A patrol officer was flagged down in the 6600 block of West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, on July 16 by a witness who saw a man kick a female in the head while she was on the ground. Both parties were intoxicated and homeless. The man was arrested and issued a summons for assault.

2 Prostitution sting nets arrest. As part of a prostitution sting July 16, a police officer contacted a woman on the Internet who was advertising sexual services. They agreed to meet after the woman asked if the officer was a cop and he said no. She was arrested in the 1200 block of Reed Street, Lakewood.

3 Cellphone brawl. A neighbor in the 1600 block of South Quay Drive, Lakewood, called police July 12 to report screaming from next door. Police arrived to find a woman crying and visibly upset. She said she had been fighting with her boyfriend over a cellphone and police observed carpet abrasions on the woman. Her boyfriend was not located. Two children were removed from the house by Jeffco Social Services.

4 Owner finds his stolen pickup — $10,000 lighter. On July 21, a gray Toyota pickup truck was stolen from a residence in the 2500 block of Eaton Street, Edgewater. That night, the truck was recovered nearby by the owner. He stated that $10,000 in property had been removed from the vehicle.

5 Liquor store burglarized. Two suspects used large rocks to smash a window and gain entry to J J Liquors, 1711 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater, on July 24. The suspects left before police arrived. Total inventory loss was unknown.
