Arapahoe County will send out a survey this month to 3,000 randomly selected households in the hopes of measuring satisfaction with life in the county.

The survey, which is being conducted by the National Research Center in Boulder, will help Arapahoe County determine if it can improve its level of service to its 640,000 residents.

Households will be selected evenly among the five county commissioner districts, which include incorporated and unincorporated residents.

Pre-notification postcards will go out Friday and the survey will follow a week later.

Arapahoe County last conducted a citizen survey in 2008, in which 75 percent of respondents rated the overall quality of life in the county as excellent or good.
