BOULDER — Colorado junior cornerback Ken Crawley, a returning starter, was praised Thursday for his play thus far in August camp by CU coach Mike MacIntyre.
“Kenneth has been competing well,” MacIntyre said following a morning practice. “He’s made a lot of plays.”
At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, Crawley has good length for a cornerback. He arrived at CU in 2012 as a highly touted prospect from Washington D.C. and became an immediate starter.
Last fall as a sophomore, Crawley ranked seventh on the team with 50 tackles and recorded two interceptions.
“He’s had a better fall camp this year than he did last year at this time,” MacIntyre said.
Crawley has shown the ability to make a big play but a lack of consistency has been an issue at times.
“I thought he improved last year from the spring to the fall,” MacIntyre said, “and I think he has improved (again this year) from the spring to the fall, so he is doing well.”
