Police in Colorado Springs have arrested a man in connection with a homicide that happened early Tuesday.
David Jason Barker, 32, of Colorado Springs, has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. Police say Barker killed 39-year-old Kenneth Wayne Bentley about 2:30 a.m. on the 1700 block of Monterey Road.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office ruled Bentley’s death a homicide by gunshot wound. Barker is being held at the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
“There are no other suspects being sought in this investigation,” police said.
Thursday’s homicide marks the 15th in Colorado Springs, a drop from 22 over the same period last year, police said.
