1 Lion poachers. As she was pulling out of her driveway July 31, a woman realized that someone had stolen two stone lion statues that she kept on both sides of her house in the 19000 block of East Hampden Avenue. The victim said the lions were there the night before.
2 Kicking and screaming. Police responded to the 12400 block of East Ford Avenue because a woman wanted to press charges against her mother for kicking her car while she was moving out of the house Aug. 2. Neighbors said the two fought all day.
3 Unwelcome in-laws. A woman called police because she suspected that her soon-to-be ex-mother-in-law and sister-in-law broke into her house in the 990 block of South Waco Way and stole camera and an iPod. The victim wasn’t home, but her neighbor said he saw the suspects looking in her windows July 29.
4 Take the whole thing. Police were called to the community mailboxes in the 1200 block of South Uvalda Street because a man saw two boys trying to pry the mailbox out of a brick wall July 30. The boys were unsuccessful, but the wall was damaged.
5 Breached security room. The manager of the Double Tree Hotel, 13696 E. Iliff Ave. called police Aug. 2 after she found the hotel’s fire box safe abandoned in the stairwell. Nothing was missing from the box, but two employees reported cash missing from purses that were kept in the same room.
6 Stereo in hand. A woman called police July 30 after she saw a man steal her stereo from her car while it was parked across the street in the 400 block of North Laredo Street. The suspect got away.
