1 Man uses accident to his advantage. A woman called Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 6 after an incident with a man at Southwest Plaza Mall, 8501 W. Bowles Ave. in the Littleton area. The woman said she was backing out of a parking space when someone began hitting her car. A man came around and said the woman had hit him. She offered to call police but he tried to sell her cosmetics instead. When she refused, he took her license plate number down and left the scene.

2 Vandalism at school. On Aug. 6, the facilities manager at Bradford Intermediate School, 2 Woodruff Drive, Ken-Caryl, called deputies after noticing damage to the school’s lawn. It was clear that someone had driven a vehicle over it. This was the second time this happened during the summer.

3 Go-kart stolen, found modified. On Aug. 6, a deputy was dispatched to the area of South Garland Street and West Laurel Place in the Littleton area, on a report of a suspicious person. While investigating, a man approached the deputy and said his son’s go-kart had been stolen. The son later called and said he found the go-kart in an alley, but it had been modified.

4 Patio chairs taken. A man called deputies on Aug. 9 after chairs were stolen from his patio in the 7200 block of South Zephyr Way, Columbine (Littleton). The man said he did not hear anything during the night and his dog did not bark. The man checked the neighborhood and could not find the chairs.
