1 Revoked adoption. A woman who lives in the 11400 block of Jamaica St., Commerce City, was given a summons Aug. 20 after officials from a local dog rescue pressed charges against her for mistreating a dog she had adopted. The dog was underweight, so the rescue took it back.
2 Stopped at the door. Police arrested a woman for trying to steal nearly $2,000 worth of electronics from the Walmart at 7101 E. 128th Ave., Thornton. The suspect put the items in a cart and tried to wheel it out of the store Aug. 24.
3 Road rage. A woman called police Aug. 22 after a man driving a car behind her near the intersection of Cyprus Drive and Colorado Boulevard in Thornton cut her off. The man got out of his car and started yelling at the victim, trying to open her car doors. He drove off and she didn’t get his license plate number.
4 Neighborhood rebels. A patrolling police officer drove past a home in the 2500 block of W. 100th Avenue, Federal Heights, Aug. 12 and noticed that the grass was very tall. The residents of the home were not there, so the officer wrote a note that told them that they were violating city code.
5 Too young to brawl. Police saw a group of boys fighting in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at 1605 W. 92nd Ave., Federal Heights. The boys were intoxicated and underage, so police cited them all.
6 Delayed shattering. A man got into his car in the 9800 block of Eagle Creek Circle, Commerce City, and shut the doors. Then, all the windows fell to pieces inside the tint film. The victim told police someone must have smashed them Aug. 21.
