A judge this week dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Republican candidate for Adams County Clerk against his Democratic opponent over her residency status.

The ruling, which was handed down Tuesday, means Cynthia Martinez will appear as the Democratic candidate for county clerk on the Nov. 4 ballot.

GOP contender Stan Martin had and should not be listed on the ballot for an Adams County office.

Martinez, who serves on the Brighton City Council, told the Denver Post earlier this month that her primary residence is in Brighton.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Martinez characterized Martin’s suit as “harassing litigation.”
