Authorities in Colorado Springs arrested a Fort Carson soldier Wednesday on suspicion of arson after he allegedly set a home on fire in the northeast part of the city, destroying it.

A second person was arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy in the case.

And 27-year-old Kendra N. Warrum has been charged with conspiracy to commit arson, a class 4 felony.

The fire happened early Sunday morning on the 7500 block of Chasewood Loop.

Investigators determined the fire was an arson and had “been working around the clock” to unravel the case, the department said.

Warrum, who owned the four-bedroom home, is a staff sergeant in the 71st Ordnance Group, a bomb-disposal unit, .

Three people were displaced because of the blaze, which was fought by 40 firefighters, including a crew from Black Forest Fire/Rescue.

Warrum is being held in lieu of a total of $30,000 bond.
