GRAND JUNCTION — A crack in a western Colorado bridge prompted state highway officials to temporarily close it down, which in turn forced a charter school to cancel classes.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reported the bridge is on Colorado 90 near Bedrock, about 50 miles south of Grand Junction and 15 miles east of the Utah state line.
Paradox Charter School canceled classes starting Wednesday because of access problems. Principal Jon Orris says the school could reopen Monday.
State highway crews repaired the crack with steel plates and bolts, and the bridge was opened to passenger vehicle traffic Friday afternoon. It remains closed to commercial vehicles.
