The Rams, ranked eighth nationally, won twice more Saturday, beating Pepperdine (25-13, 25-23, 25-20) and North Carolina Central (25-15, 25-20, 25-12), to finish off a sweep of their three matches to take the championship of the Residence Inn Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.

CSU beat host and No. 18 Arizona State on Friday night.

The Rams finished non-conference play with a 12-1 record.

Three CSU players — senior outside hitter Marlee Reynolds, freshman middle blocker Jasmine Hanna and junior libero Jaime Colaizzi — were on the all-tournament team. Reynolds also was named the tournament most valuable player.

The Rams, who likely will rise a spot or two when the national rankings come out Monday, open Mountain West Conference play Thursday at Utah State.
