Police in Colorado Springs arrested a man on Thursday night after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend in the head during a domestic argument.

Daniel Quintana, 23, has been charged with felony domestic violence assault in the stabbing, police said in a news release.

The dispute happened about 7:45 p.m. on the 2200 block of Flintwood Drive after Quintana allegedly armed himself with a knife during a verbal altercation with family members of the ex-girlfriend, the release said.

The 26-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and later released police said.

Quintana is being held without bond at the El Paso County jail.
