After a series of health problems that , has revealed that he has undergone treatment for cancer, according to
“They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever,” he said. “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but thatap what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
In February of 2013, Morrissey first postponed a number of tour dates — including a Denver show — to treat a bleeding ulcer in his esophagus. Then in March of the same year, he cancelled his rescheduled tour dates. A month after finally making it to Denver in May of this year, Morrissey
According to the interview doctors urged Morrissey to stop touring, but he refused “because itap very ingrained within me,” he said.
In a note to fans when he cancelled his North American tour Morrissey said:
“It is with great sadness that the remainder of the US Tour has been cancelled. The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted. Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.”
