Cory Gardner raked it in.

Republican Congressman Cory Gardner hauled in $4.3 million in just three months in his quest to unseat Democratic Sen. Mark Udall, but here’s the bad news for TV watchers: He’s going to spend $750,000 of his $3.3 million cash on hand to buy more air time for ads.

Colorado is the most saturated market in the nation when it comes to political ads because of hotly contested races for the Senate, governor and 6th Congressional District. If the fracking ballot measures hadn’t been , we’d all be unplugging our TVs.

“I am humbled by the incredible outpouring of support from Coloradans ready to shake up the Senate in November,” Gardner said, in a news release. “The momentum on the ground is building as Coloradans realize the road to the majority runs directly through our state. It’s time for a new generation of leadership in the Senate that is accountable to the next generation.”

Sept. 30 marked the end of the third-quarter fundraising. Reports are due by Oct. 15. Udall’s numbers haven’t been released yet.
