1 Armed robbery threat just a joke. A man threatened to beat up and car jack a 7-Eleven customer Sept. 21 in the 7700 block of West 58th Avenue, Arvada. Police located the suspect’s vehicle a few blocks away. After lying and saying the victim was his friend, the suspect admitted he made threats but was only joking. He was issued a summons for menacing and underage alcohol consumption.

2 Good deed punished. A man helping his friend’s girlfriend move into a new home Sept. 24 had his van stolen by the woman. He got into another car and located the vehicle at West 80th Avenue and Kipling Street in Arvada. The woman used the stolen van to smash into his vehicle four times before fleeing. Police located the woman, who said, “I don’t know nothing about nothing.” She was arrested for unauthorized control of a motor vehicle.

3 Bumper cars. An irate driver caused minor damage after using his car to bump into another vehicle that had cut in line at a gas pump at King Soopers, 8055 Sheridan Blvd., on Sept. 20. Police later located the man and issued him a summons for careless driving and hit-and-run.

4 Wallet returned. A woman found a wallet on the trunk of her car Sept. 23 in the 6400 block of Welch Street. Police located the owner, who said she had tied her shoelaces a few nights earlier after “drinking a little” and had probably left the wallet behind.

5 Storm drain nap. A transient taking a nap on a storm drain cover at the Carwash Experts at 5360 Wadsworth Blvd. on Sept. 24 was issued a trespass notice after being told to leave earlier.
