Village Homes’ lower-maintenance lifestyle is drawing a diverse range of buyers to Arvada’s master-planned Candelas

Designers at Village Homes are remarking on how fast their Sundance series of lower-maintenance homes have disappeared from master-planned Candelas in Arvada – but also at the wide reach those alley-loaded, privacy-oriented designs seem to have with Denver area buyers.

“It’s such a diverse spectrum of buyers that wants this lifestyle,” says Village’s Cynthia Pacello, who’ll show you the models today, four miles north from W. 64th on Indiana Avenue. “We’re getting all age ranges, kids and no kids, including couples who are choosing whether they want to be in places like Stapleton, or here where you have more privacy and you’re surrounded by trails and open space.”

With 66 sites when it came on the market late last year, Village’s Sundance is down to 21 remaining homes – doubtless the last concept of this type that will be offered anytime soon in Candelas, with its sustainable design and high-profile amenities.

Those include a park and a $3 million sustainably-designed recreation center that are already open, directly across from Village’s neighborhood (you can tour two homes today for quick delivery right across from the park). Like the others, they show Village’s deep experience with ‘lifestyle’ oriented design – in this case, the only homes in Candelas with alley-load garages, as seen in Lowry and Stapleton, and in traditional Denver neighborhoods like Park Hill.

That rear-load garage allows Village to offer some features that you won’t find on many homes with this kind of access to trails and amenities: major outdoor living spaces with sunrooms and enclosed patios with fireplaces, screened off from neighbors by privacy fencing; with the more detailed, attractive streetscape with grandly sized front doors that are made possible by keeping 2-and-3-car garages off the street.

Village won a silver award at last week’s MAME Awards for the concept – and has also seen lots of buyers for these from surrounding areas of Arvada, Golden, Broomfield, Louisville, and Boulder, who want the access, as well as the schools like Meiklejohn Elementary, 10-for-10 stars at GreatSchools.org. Village’s prices start in the $370s.

Pacello can show you two homes set to deliver next month, each facing directly onto that park and attractive rec center. Those include a Jazmin 3-bedroom design with 3-car garage, with a solar energy system, granite slab counters, stainless appliances, 42-inch maple cabinets, and air conditioning. It’s at $466,243.

If you’re coming from Arvada, take Indiana north from W. 64th four miles to Candelas Parkway and follow the signs. Or from Boulder County and U.S. 36, take Interlocken south from 36 to CO 128, right to Indiana, and south.
