Getting your player ready...
Small town Erie – ten miles from Boulder or the U.S. 36 corridor, 20 miles from downtown – is getting to be a place with a big future, one you can explore today in a 963-acre master-planned community that’s near Erie’s new high school. At Colliers Hill, on Erie Parkway three miles east of I-25, you can already tour eight model homes – five of them grand-opening now – along with trails and a junior Olympic pool opening soon, in a town that is absolutely nuts about kids’ sports.
“We chose Erie because we build in communities where the standards are high and the expectations are higher,” says Jon Lee of Community Development Group – developers of Pradera and Erie Commons before launching this pretty master plan in a town that Movoto now lists among the ‘ten safest small towns’ in the entire nation. With Erie’s prospects rocketing, Lee notes, you’ll see some offerings in Colliers Hill within reach of first-time buyers; but most are larger move-up and second move-up homes, reflecting rising buyer expectations. Part of what you’re going to like about Colliers Hill – named for Erie’s coal-mining past – are things that have always been here, including a hilltop setting with stunning views of the Indian Peaks behind Boulder, and trails that already connect into Erie’s Mainstreet dining and taverns along historic Briggs Street. You’re going to like the looks of nearby Erie High School; even more so if you check out what parents and students are saying about it at GreatSchools.org. Next week, Colliers Hill will be a major sponsor of the ‘Eerie Erie’ 5K/10K – a qualifier for the Bolder Boulder; but this is the day to visit the models here, as Shea Homes opens its new ‘Shea3D’ series, from the $340s, making its first-ever Colorado appearance. “You always hear buyers saying, ‘I like the downstairs in this one, the upstairs on that one,'” says Shea’s Scott Beaumont. In these five Shea3D designs, you’ll actually be able to make that happen – choose a bedroom level you like in one model, but then rearrange the entertaining, kitchen and outdoor living area to match that way it works in another. A short walk to the west you’ll tour a pretty neighborhood by Richmond American Homes – 56 homes already sold — showing the views and walkout basements possible on many Colliers Hill sites. From the $300s to $600s, Richmond American has 13 plans to pick from — several with a standard 3-car garage, gourmet kitchen and/or deluxe master bath. You’ll see where a luxurious new ‘Harmon’ model is taking shape with over 4,000 square feet of finished area, and other homes that can deliver this year, where you can save thousands in special incentives. Take I-25 north past E470 and continue three more miles to Exit 232, Erie, and head west three miles. Or from Boulder take Baseline east to U.S. 287, north 1.5 mi. to Erie Parkway, and east 2.5 miles.
