Interview with Mark Greene, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: Mark Greene Automotive was born out of some encouragement from my friends who knew that I was mechanically inclined. I had been a motorcycle mechanic for 15 years and I worked on cars in my spare time. They encouraged me to start a business repairing automobile and trucks, so I did.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Because my business was developed and initiated for the purpose of repairing vehicles owned by friends, we have always been true to our cause, which is to help people in need of an honest repair facility and treat these people like our own family who we love dearly. My life and business revolve around my family.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: We really like helping people, and this business gives us the opportunity to do just that. We also enjoy the challenge of repairing today’s complex vehicles and giving people an alternative to dealerships.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Our biggest challenge is keeping good techs and finding the information pertaining to these newer vehicles.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Probably the biggest surprise about me is when people learn that I am also a commercial pilot who has flown corporate jets since 1999 on a part-time basis. And I spent the first 15 years of my work career repairing and racing motorcycles.
