The Wytches, Run the Jewels and more make our picks of best Colorado shows this week. We’ll be seeing you there, and if you don’t make it out, follow the music musings and our

4) Jane’s Addiction — Nov. 19, Ogden Theatre

The last time Jane’s Addiction was in Colorado the band headlined the Uproar Festival at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre. Returning to the state, the band will play an intimate show at Denver’s 1,800-capacity Ogden Theatre. As an added bonus, the band will perform “Nothing’s Shocking” in its entirety. With the small setting and the guarantee of the classics, this might just be worth the $85 asking price.

3) Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, Land Lines, Sunboy — Nov. 14, Gothic Theatre. $13-$15

“Thank you for putting up with our onslaught of promotion. And thanks for all the amazing feedback on the album thus far. Help us celebrate its release tonight at The Gothic!” Snake Rattle Rattle Snake politely said on Facebook today to advance its CD release party at the Gothic Theatre. You have to respect a band with manners, and also a band that’s put as much time and effort into its latest release “Totems.” The band celebrates the new album tonight with Land Lines and Sunboy.

2) Run the Jewels — Gothic Theatre, Nov. 18

Itap through an abrasive flow, intense and dark beats that Run the Jewels addresses everything from violence to love. At first the aggression can be a turn off, but once you dig in a bit, you’ll see why music critics say they’ve “started a movement that transcends music.” Sure, transcends music is a little hyperbolic, but the duo made up of EL-P and Killer Mike has released its second album, “Run the Jewels 2,” thatap at once pure hip-hop fun and a little insightful. Run the Jewels plays Englewood’s Gothic Theatre on Nov. 18 in support of an album thatap being hailed as the best hip-hop release of the year. ($20.75-$25, gothictheatre.com)

1) The Wytches — Hi-Dive, Nov. 14

Hardcore music and indie-rock hardly ever overlap, but add a pinch of psych and surf rock, and you have some sort of Frankenstein of a band. That band is the Wytches (which fits in with the monster theme here). Having made its start in the British hardcore scene, the Wytches developed an appreciation for singer-songwriters and indie-music. Soon the band developed its own hybrid of the sound thatap as intriguing as it is strange. On the strength of their debut “Annabel Dream Reader” and deliciously dark live shows, the band has gained some buzz in the states. The Wytches make their Denver headlining debut at the Hi-Dive on Nov. 14. ($10, hi-dive.com)
