While two of the nine puggle puppies stolen from a Northglenn pet shop have been recovered, Thornton police said there have been no leads in the case of four English bulldog pups taken in another heist the same day.

Thornton police spokesman Matt Barnes said that while both thefts involved dogs, and occurred at a similar time — shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning — there’s no “definite” connection that the two cases are related.

The two puggle pups recovered on Friday were reported found by a family in a bush in their front yard near Wadsworth Boulevard and Yale Avenue in Northglenn. A puggle is a cross between a beagle and a pug.

The four English bulldogs were valued by the the store owner at more than $11,000.
