Authorities in Mesa County identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Clifton on Sunday as a 15-year-old boy.
Brandon Crawford died after he was shot on the 3200 block of East Rood Circle about 3 p.m.
“Witnesses to this shooting have been identified, including the suspected shooter,” the county sheriff’s office said on Monday. “The person believed to be responsible for the shooting continues to be cooperative with investigators. There appears to be no malicious intent that investigators are aware of at this time and this shooting appears to be an isolated incident.”
The sheriff’s office says the investigation into the shooting remains “active and ongoing.” Authorities have not identified the suspected shooter.
Crawford was dead when deputies arrived at the home in response to reports of a shooting.
