1 Police investigate neighborhood smashing spree. Police investigated a smashed windshield in the 7800 block of Club Crest Drive in Arvada on Nov. 1. A neighbor said she woke up the previous night to find two men dressed in all black hiding on her front porch. They destroyed her Halloween pumpkins and fled.
2 Man needlessly flees cops. An officer responding to a possible vehicle break-in on Oct. 31 in the 5300 block of Carr Street in Arvada arrived to find a possible suspect, who fled. The man was found after an apartment owner said the suspect burst into her apartment complaining of an asthma attack and then admitted police were chasing him but he was “a nice guy” wrongfully accused of car theft. The car belonged to him, but he was still issued a summons for false reporting and interference.
3 Mystery mailer. A woman in the 7300 block of West 67th Avenue in Arvada told police on Nov. 3 that she had received a strange letter addressed to her with no return address. Inside the envelope was another envelope with two typed written letters that weren’t threatening but made no sense.
4 Unwanted person. Police issued a no-trespass notice to an intoxicated man who had been walking in and out of King Soopers, 15200 W. 64th Ave., Arvada, on Oct. 31 for four straight hours. He was dropped off at a nearby Denny’s.
5 Light-bulb theft. A homeowner in the 6400 block of Zephyr Street in Arvada had a light valued at $120 stolen from the top of an 8-foot pole in his front yard on Nov. 1.
