1 Punching bag frightens woman. On Nov. 2, a resident in the 17000 block of West 14th Avenue, Golden, reported a punching bag outside her doorway. She named a suspect who she believed placed it there, but police did not contact that person due to insufficient evidence.

2 Deputies respond to open door. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an open door in the 3000 block of Bergen Point Trail, Evergreen, on Nov. 5. They found no suspects or items missing from the house. The resident said he came home and found the back door open. He remembered using the door but thought he closed and locked it.

3 A friendly intruder. A man reported to Jefferson County Sheriff’s office Nov. 3 that someone was pounding on the windows at his house in the 9000 block of U.S. 285, Morrison. Several deputies responded and arrested at gunpoint a man they found in a vehicle in the driveway. The man said he was fighting with his wife and decided to visit his friend, who he figured was sleeping so he pounded on the windows. He was released.

4 Can catches fire. Deputies went to the 2000 block of Island Point, Evergreen, where a resident showed where a fire had burned near her house. Questioning of a worker remodeling her home revealed that he had thrown rags soaked in flammable stain into a trash can. The worker was warned not to do that again.

5 Disabled vehicle. A woman told Golden Police that she believes her neighbors disabled her van’s reverse gear when it was parked in the 800 block of 16th Street Nov. 1 because of previous incidents.
