Larry Zimmer is showing improvement. The longtime radio voice of Colorado football continues to recover from a fall Oct. 5 at his home in the Lookout Mountain area.
Zimmer, 79, was moved recently from St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood to Select Speciality Hospital at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, a longer-term and rehabilitation facility. Zimmer is said to be off a ventilator and breathing better.
Here is a statement from the Zimmer family:
“A procedure on Larry’s vocal cords was performed (Thursday) and as a result he can now speak again. At this time it’s very basic, but with therapy and in time, the medical team feels Larry will have full use of his voice. The Zimmer family would like to thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers during Larry’s recovery.”
