Rep. Dan Pabon didn’t win his leadership election but he has an amazing consolation prize coming at the end of the session: a new daughter.
The Denver Democrat and his wife, Heather Gwinn Pabon, are expecting their second child together on May 24. The baby girl will join her brother, Alec, who turns 2 on Thanksgiving, and Pabon’s daughter Maria, 19, a sophomore at Wittenberg University.
“The state Capitol isn’t just a place where good ideas are born, but a place where families grow,” Pabon said. “The crying and cooing will be a welcome sound in our home. And only slightly different sounding, then my previous months, no doubt, hearing the crying and cooing in the Capitol.”
Likely from the Senate Democrats, after being in power since the 2004 election. House Democrats maintained control after the November election.
Pabon, who was elected to a third term in Denver, but lost to his fellow north Denver friend, Rep. Crisanta Duran. He immediately threw his support behind her.
