GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a man escaped unharmed when the tractor-trailer he was driving was hit by a train south of Greeley.
The Greeley Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1yamRKs ) 29-year-old Danny Sanchez was crossing the tracks on Weld County Road 33 outside Peckham at about 12:30 p.m. Monday. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Duane Lewis says the train hit the water tanker on the rear axle, causing the truck and the trailer to roll over.
The intersection on Weld 33 is not equipped with flashing lights or a barricade to signal oncoming trains. It is marked with stop and railroad crossing signs.
