Getting your player ready...

Former Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton dressed as Santa in 2010. (Helen H. Richardson, The Denver Post)

Kyle Orton, the former Broncos quarterback, for only the second time since he was cut in November of 2011.

Orton spent about two-and-a-half years with the Broncos after he was acquired from the Bears, but went from replacing Jay Cutler to backing up Tim Tebow. His departure from Denver was hardly amiable: He had wanted out for a while, and for many fans, the feeling was mutual.

After he was released, he signed on with the Chiefs for a short stint, and then headed to Dallas for a couple years. Now he’s with the Buffalo Bills, a team that is nearing an eight-win season for the first time in a decade and has a shot at making the postseason. Finally.

In honor of his pending arrival to the Mile High City, and of the holiday season, we offer you this: Orton dressed as Santa in December of 2010, charming 6 1/2-month-old Elle Walker but scaring 2-year-old Andrew Anderson.

Can’t win ’em all.
