The Manitou Springs incline, closed since August for repairs, opens Friday at 10 a.m. much to the pleasure of excited outdoor enthusiasts who love the trail’s grueling challenge.
The city intends to mark the occasion with a celebration at the trailhead, but details haven’t been finalized, .
The trail rises about 2,000 vertical feet over a short span and is a popular destination that attracts both tourists and the Olympic elite.
Repairs and upgrades were made to stretches of the trail, specifically in an effort to address flood damage.
