BOULDER — Tad Boyle’s Colorado men’s basketball team has already faced Southeastern Conference members Auburn and Georgia, as well as other quality opponents. But Boyle said Tuesday that Colorado State (8-0) will be the best team that the Buffaloes will have played.

Colorado (5-2) hosts the unbeaten Rams at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Coors Events Center. The Pac-12 Network has the telecast.

“We have a heck of an opportunity Wednesday night against a very, very good Colorado State team,” Boyle said. “I have great respect for CSU. Their volleyball team just beat our volleyball team. Their football team beat our football team. Their women’s basketball team took us to double overtime. They’ve done a great job with all their sports.

“Larry Eustachy’s (men’s basketball) team is 8-0. They’re off to the best start in school history. They’re the best team we will play to this point in our season. They’re better than Georgia. They’re better than Wyoming. … They’re better than every team we’ve played.”

“We’ve got a lot of respect for their team,” Boyle added. “I respect their coaches. They’re great rebounding. They’re disciplined. We have our hands full.”
