1 Free toys. A man who lives in the 1700 block of Clinton Street left a pile of toys on his driveway for the neighbor’s kids to take Nov. 25. When he came home, he realized the local kids had taken a bunch of toys from his porch as well, including a dune buggy and pirate ship. Police went to surrounding homes and recovered all the other toys.
2 Threats and paint. After breaking up with her boyfriend, a woman who lives in the 1400 block of North Macon Street received texts from her ex saying that he was going to hurt her if she tried to stop him from stealing her license plates. On Nov. 30, she looked outside and saw the ex. When she stepped outside, her front door was spray painted with obscenities.
3 Backfired. A woman was arrested for criminal tampering because she took all of her estranged husband’s clothes and put them in trash bags in the hallway of their home in the 4100 block of South Shawnee Street. The woman told police she didn’t know it was illegal to bag up his clothes Dec. 5.
4 Liquor grab. A cashier at Buckley Discount Liquors, 17150 E. Iliff Ave., called police because two teenagers snatched a bottle of Ciroc vodka and ran from the store Dec. 4.
5 Parking-lot predator. A man reported that someone broke his car window and stole two of his cell phones Dec. 1. The victim was at Gibby’s Bar, 1555 S. Havana St., when the thief broke into the car and took the disconnected phones.
6 Gone in the night. A woman called police because someone stole her car while it was parked in front of her home in the 4300 block of South Helena Way Dec. 1.
