1 “Million dollar” something. A man was visiting his new girlfriend Dec. 15 in the 1600 block of Boston Street when he noticed that his ex-girlfriend was lurking in the neighborhood, near where he parked his car. When he left the house, the words “million dollar” and a third illegible word were spray-painted in gold on the car.
2 Of pocket knives and pancakes. Police were called to the IHOP restaurant, 5820 S. Parker Road, on Dec. 13 because some kids and an older man were screaming at each other in the parking lot. Another man tried to defuse the argument, so the older man pulled out a pocket knife, slashed his tires and drove away.
3 Stringy insults. A man who lives in the 24700 block of East Irish Drive reported that someone used green Silly String to stick offensive words all over his car Dec. 13. The vandals also used a green grease marker to outline the words.
4 Frustrated thief. Someone smashed the car stereo of a man who lives in the 15600 block of East Eastman Place Dec. 16 after they were unable to get it out of the dashboard. The victim said his dashboard was ripped out and the heater didn’t work anymore.
5 Solar shortage. An employee of Provider’s Resource Clearing House, 14500 E. 33rd Place, called police when she saw that someone had broken in and stolen $2,000 in copper wire from the solar panels outside the building Dec. 17.
6 Phone swipe. Police were called Dec. 15 to the TCF Bank, 15350 E. Sixth Ave., because a woman said her phone had been stolen. Security footage couldn’t make out where she set the phone down, though.
