GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — The U.S. branch of Brazilian meat giant JBS plans to contest citations faulting it in the death of a worker earlier this year.

The Greeley Tribune (http://bit.ly/1AaYI6J ) reports that JBS USA Holdings has filed notice that it will dispute the findings of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as well as a $45,500 fine in the death of 54-year-old Ralph Horner.

Investigators say Horner was working near an unguarded and vulnerable area on the conveyor belt at the Greeley plant in June when his hair was caught, dragging him into the system.

JBS spokesman Cameron Bruett says the company is assisting Horner’s family and that they will get lifetime worker’s compensation benefits.

OSHA’s Denver-area director Herb Gibson says JBS will be able to have its say at a formal settlement hearing.
