A father racing to the hospital on the icy roads Friday morning ended up delivering his own son.
Angela Tsushko started having contractions Thursday night, according to her friend Sony Brooks.
Brooks said Angela, and her husband Sergey, decided to drive to North Suburban Medical Center around 2 a.m.
The roads were icy and when Sergey got to the hospital, he slid on the ice, hit a curb and flattened his tire, Brooks said.
The baby didn’t want to wait and Sergey ended up delivering his son in the parking lot.
