Police in Aurora say they have received calls from women and girls in California reporting that they too were victims of a man .

Robert Smith, 28, apparently used the guise of being a massage therapist in training to assault women in Colorado and California over a span of several months dating back to the summer, officials said.

Police did not say exactly how many calls they received from California.

Smith was arrested this week after he was — one of them a 15-year-old girl — on Sunday at their home. The older of the two, a 21-year-old, reported the assault to police.

After the announcement of his arrest and release of his mugshot on Tuesday, five more alleged victims came forward to police saying they had also been assaulted after Smith used a similar guise with them.

Police said Smith assaulted the sisters after reaching out to the teen who had posted on a social media site that she was in need of money. He told the girl he was a massage therapist in training and needed to practice, offering to pay her for receiving a free massage.

After allegedly sexually assaulting the 15-year-old, Smith started massaging the 21-year-old sister, say police. When the massage escalated into a sexual assault sister immediately protested and put an end to the session, police said.

Police say the callers from California and the other accusers told investigators that Smith used the same guise before assaulting them. The California callers have been directed to the appropriate jurisdictions, police in Aurora said.

When arrested this week, police found that Smith was also wanted in California “for a similar offense.”

Officials say they are still investigating the alleged assaults and that more victims could come forward.

Smith is being held on $250,000 bond at the Arapahoe County Jail and is next due in court on Tuesday.
