A stretch of nice weather is expected to end overnight Tuesday as snow and cold move into the Front Range.

The National Weather Service says snow will begin to fall after about 5 a.m. on Wednesday when temperatures drop to 21 degrees. Wednesday’s high is expected to top out in the low 30s.

A chance of precipitation lasts into Wednesday night, through which up to roughly 3 inches of snow is expected to fall.

Heavier snow is expected to the south of the city.

Earlier predictions called for only a trace of snow through Wednesday.

Forecasters are calling for a high of 37 degrees and sunshine on Thursday.
