1 Man gives chase in produce aisle. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies reported to a disturbance at Walmart, 952 Swede Gulch, Evergreen, on Jan. 10. The store’s deli employees said a man yelled at them when they denied him free samples, then threatened an employee and chased him around the produce aisles. Deputies contacted a suspect outside the store, who said he was homeless, staying at Chief Hosa Campground, and confirmed he walked to Walmart’s deli and left when asked to. He was served a trespassing notice, but said he would return because it was the only store he could walk to.
2 Man arrested, jailed. Jeffco Sheriff’s Office placed a man in custody Jan. 9 after his neighbor presented evidence that he was on her property in the 6600 block of Louise Lane, Evergreen. The man violated a restraining order by standing by his neighbor’s parked truck and yelling obscenities at her from his yard.
3 Theft confirmed at the Crossroads. Jeffco Sheriff’s Office issued a man a summons for theft after employees of Crossroads Grill, 16 Mount Evans Boulevard, Pine, confirmed his identity in surveillance footage showing him take a woman’s wallet from her purse. He admitted guilt, saying he had been drunk and “it’s just not like me to do this.” (Not on map.)
4 Moving truck disappears. A woman reported to Golden police Jan. 6 that a moving company she hired never showed up with her stuff to her new home in the 700 block of G Street, Golden. Police contacted the company, which said their truck broke down and they were transferring the woman’s items to a new truck.
