Authorities in Jefferson County are searching for a man and woman shoplifting duo who, a child in tow, stole from a Burlington Coat Factory last month before pulling a knife on an employee.
On the night of Dec. 14, deputies from the county sheriff’s office responded the store on the 8000 block of West Bowles Avenue on reports of a shoplifter who pulled a knife on an employee.
“A man and a woman were pushing a shopping cart towards the exit without paying for the merchandise,” the sheriff’s office said. “A little girl was riding in the cart. When an employee yelled at them to stop, they ran out of the store taking the cart with them.”
Authorities say the man pulled a knife on an employee in the parking lot, threatening to stab him if he came any closer.
“The couple then took the child out of the shopping cart and climbed into a maroon Dodge Durango driven by a woman,” the office said. “They left the merchandise behind.”
The sheriff’s office on Monday released surveillance images of the shoplifting duo.
Anyone with information on the shoplifting or the shoplifters is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at (303) 271-5612.
