A Denver man was killed Sunday in an industrial accident at Comanche Power Plant in Pueblo, officials said.

Pueblo police officers were dispatched to the power plant, located at 2005 Lime Road around 3:25 p.m. regarding an industrial accident, according to a release by the Pueblo Police Department.

Witnesses said the 25-year-old man was walking alongside heavy equipment while a large transformer was being moved.

“The victim died from a crushing injury during the operation,” the release said.

The victim, a Denver resident, was working with a contracted company, the release said. The man’s name was not released.

The investigation is ongoing.
