In advance of Wednesday night’s Mountain West Conference men’s basketball battle between Colorado State and Wyoming in Laramie, Cowboys coach Larry Shyatt praised CSU.
“Where Colorado State is different than other teams is they are really blessed with being the best offensive team in the league,” Shyatt said.
Under third-year coach Larry Eustachy, Colorado State (19-3, 6-3 Mountain West) tops the conference in scoring (74 points per game) and scoring margin (10.6).
“They score. They shoot. And they get back (defensively) in transition,” Shyatt said. “They have very few weaknesses. And there are very few teams 19-3.”
Wyoming (18-4) is tied with San Diego State at the top of the conference standings at 7-2. CSU is tied with New Mexico for third at 6-3.
Wyoming did not allow CSU’s offense to kick in gear during the earlier “Border War” meeting. The Cowboys claimed a 60-54 victory on Jan. 7 in Fort Collins.
