1 Booze-loving son attacks dad. A father upset about his son’s drinking dumped his booze down the sink Jan. 17 in the 9600 block of West 56th Place, Arvada. The son responded by trashing his dad’s room, putting him in a chokehold and punching him before police arrived and subdued the hot- headed progeny. He was arrested for four crimes.
2 Pranksters harass workers. An employee of 24 Hour Fitness, 8105 Sheridan Blvd., Arvada, told police on Jan. 18 she received a profanity-laced phone call. Other 24 Hour Fitness clubs had been receiving similar calls, with the audio being uploaded to YouTube.
3 Renters remorse. Police arrested a woman for domestic violence on Jan. 17 in the 10000 block of West 55th Drive in Arvada after she returned from a Patriots football party and attacked her boyfriend when he asked about rent.
4 Felon carries backup weapon. A felon prohibited from owning a gun said he didn’t know the brass knuckles police found under his driver’s seat Jan. 18 in the area of West 64th Avenue and Oak Street in Arvada were also illegal. He told police he carried them because “there is a price over my head, and some people won’t be hurt because I’ll be testifying in court soon.” He was arrested for illegal weapon possession.
5 Crashed computer, smashed door. An arrest warrant was issued Jan. 15 for a man who smashed his girlfriend’s cellphone after kicking down a bathroom door when he became angry that she crashed his computer in the 11500 block of West 61st Place, Arvada.
