A Douglas County Sheriff’s office bomb squad that investigated a suspicious package in Highlands Ranch Sunday, found nothing explosive, said Sgt. Ron Hanavan, Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Sheriff’s deputies spotted the package while patrolling Paintbrush Park, Hanavan said.
“It was some papers and stuff. We couldn’t see it so we called the bomb squad. They have other tools at their disposal so they were able to look at it,” Hanavan said.
“It is just an abundance of caution,” Hanavan said of the bomb squad’s deployment Sunday morning. A robot assisted in the investigation, he said.
