You’re looking for a summer job? Elitch Gardens has plenty.
The downtown Denver amusement park on Tuesday said it plans to hire more than 1,500 seasonal employees.
Hiring has begun for start dates in April. The is open May 2 through Nov. 1.
More than 15 departments are looking for help with immediate openings in maintenance, food service, park services, ride operations and retail. Other jobs are open in games, gift shop sales, aquatic operations, guest services security and safety, Elitch’s said in a news release.
Park spokeswoman Jessie Falk said employees typically range from high school kids to “people who are in their 80s who are looking for a fun, interesting way to spend their time.”
According to the park website, there are jobs available for people as young as 16 years old.
Though Colorado’s unemployment rate has dipped to about 4 percent, Falk said Elitch’s isn’t worried about filling the jobs, which range from ride operators to retail clerks and water park lifeguards.
The park’s human resources director Rachel Shapiro said the work offers the ability to develop work place skills “in a fun and rewarding team environment.”
The park will be celebrating its 125th birthday this year.
